F'd In the A and a little Deviant Art
Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 11:40AM
I remember when South Park first came on TV, I thought it was the funniest show I had ever seen. After following it for a few years, I drifted off to just the occasional episode hear and there. But recently I found Southparkstudios.com and fell back in love with the show. The site has every episode from all 12 seasons online for free. So, over the last few weeks I've watch almost every episode while working on Oz. Now Dorothy has a potty mouth like Cartman.
I think the style of animation works perfect for South Park, but I couldn't help do a quick doodle to see what I might have made kids look like. At some point, intend on taking this to a finish but figured that I could show you guys a piece that doesn't make it much past the idea stage. Sometimes that's all I need to do, just move the pencil around until the idea is out of my head.
Also, I have finally started a Deviant Art account. After years of not having the greatest gallery setup on my site, I figured it's time to start a DA account and use that as my gallery. So be sure to check that out as well for art and a different kind of journal entry.
Thanks

Ack! More online video to watch!
Thanks, drug pusher!!!!
Holy a DA... bout time man ... I love all your work. You have sick talent.
Skottie, do you find yourself craving to use paper and pencil anymore? Do you find it necessary at all, in any capacity (roughs, final clean-up, or just to stay in touch with your roots)? Or are you 100% devoted to the Cintiq now?
I have this huge drafting table that I'm in love with. But I could really save space with a small Ikea table for my Cintiq... I just dread abandoning it.
Thanks everyone.
I only lay things out on the cintiq. 98% of my finals are on paper with brush and ink. I think the two work together well.
Nice. There's one comic out there in particular touting "digital inks". It looks ok at a glance, until you really examine it (which is how I feel about most digital stuff these days). The speed is great, but the quality of the line just isn't up to par. Glad to know my gut feeling to keep it real is on point.
Finally! on DA!! I will Fav you this very moment!!
Skottie, will you be selling B-Sides again or should i give up and wait for JUNK ?
Awesome to see you on DA! Great sketch of the South Park kids too, I have never seen them in any other style than the show's. Loving "Oz", keep up the great work!!

DA page looks great. A children's book in the works? Have you always wanted to do that or has OZ opened some more doors for you. Either way, look forward to checking it out.

Ha! I love it! I really enjoy seeing other people's adaptations of characters. I like the "Don't f**k with me" expression on Cartman's face.
Ha ha ha, I did the same thing not too long ago with the South Park kids:
