Oz Peek 2

Ok, so I thought I would give another very small preview of an Oz panel.  (And it was a reason to come on here and give a little bit of a rant)

[ok, let's simmer down now]

Ok, so I've deleted a new rant.

People who know me know that I might fly off about one subject or another from time to time.  While my concerns in my rant were very real,  I probably shouldn't run my mouth with out knowing everything.  We all know what assumptions make.  I let my anger for something that I wasn't directly involved in get the better of me, which I know better.  (I told you I shouldn't use this thing to bitch and moan.)

I've talked to the people involved it looks likes things are getting squared away.  In the future I'll do my best to not be such an asshole while talking about some things.

I say call the company out. Let the word spread of their particular business practices.

If an artist is hired and paid but doesn't deliver the work doesn't he get a bad reputation, via word of mouth?

So should company "X"
Let the truth spread. Maybe they'll be shamed into paying the guy.

Well said. The sad thing is that it happens far too often.

I am owed over 5000 for Video Game work. Sometimes they think that they will have the money, think that their investors are backing them, then when they find out that they dont, bang...they keep you as long as they can making false promises. Promise a bonus, promise that it will be here...then the money gets there, but- the cycle continues the damn bastards will do it again. I call them hustlers, low lifes. Whatever, got a new job.

I've been reading a lot about this lately. It seems like common practice for some companies. I think you should totally put this company on blast. Rich Johnston (lying in the gutters on CBR) does, and i'm sure he's not the only one, and it seems to get the companies to pay up because they know everyone knows their shit.

Totally agree! I'm owed 11k for advertising work by a company that's now liquidated itself and setup under another name leaving creditors trying to recover their money from an empty shell company! Some people really disgust me and the way they treat others. Hope your friend gets his money. Just hang in there and pursue it, cos' no matter how much money it is, it's the principle of the matter in the end. Make them pay!

Sometimes people pay up after being featured in LITG.

Sometimes everyone realises they'll never do business with these people again - Rick Olney, Mat Nastos, Pat Lee etc.

But they do have to be NAMED. I respect all confidences.

I completely missed the "rant" but that is not why I am writing. I wanted to comment on the awesome illustration of Uncle Henry.

I love how curly and scraggly his beard and hat look. I could only hope to look so grizzled some day.

Great work!

I read about the upcoming series on Comic Book Resources. It looks absolutely gorgeous. I may find myself not even waiting for the trade of this one. Good job!!
