The Wonderful Wizard of Oz #1 On Sale Now

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz #1 is on shelves now.  You've been hearing me run my mouth for awhile now about this book and it's finally here.  I can't say enough about all the people involved.  Jean on colors is just making my heart melt on a daily basis.  The editors seem to be getting paid to simply email me and tell me that I rule the planet and Marvel as a whole has put so much support behind it.  But Eric Shanower has really done a fantastic job of bringing his long history and love for Oz to our take on the book.

So, run out and pick up the first issue and then come back and let me know what you think!

HERE is a great review if you're interested.

This is the first review I've seen of the issue, and it so highly rated the book and your work that I thought I'd post it:

Shit! This looks so f'in amazing.
But it's so bad, that in Poland it will be published after a two or three years or maybe even more, after the original USA publishing...

BTW man, you did an awesome job on it. Looks how it should looks.

So wishing you luck, health, more awesome works and a long life to make us happy with your art, for the following Christmas! :)

picked it up and read it yesterday and I got to say that I loved it. Your art is awesome, whimsical, and awe inspiring, the writing is solid, and fun, and the colors really pull the whole thing together.

Great job! looking forward to #2

Amazing book, seriously man. I read through it and was staring at the pages for minutes! It was a great week in comics, art-wise, but you knocked them all out of the park! Looking forward to #2 and the eventual Hardcover!

Thank you So much for this,
I actually bought several copies for my little sister who is a fan of yours and my friends who don't necessarily read comics but love The Wizard of Oz, I really hope the love it as much as I did.

When can I stab you in the face for being so awesome?

I picked it up and want my money back. Your work seems forced and dull, even a bit boring. You were on a higher level before , an artist to watch, but soon enough we'll find your books in the 10 cent bin.

First issue looked stunning look forward to seeing more! If this gets put in a hardcover with some funky extras, I will buy it without doubt and pass along the single issues to a good home.

Keep on keepin' on Skottie!

Picked up the first issue and LOVED it. I cannot wait for this to be released in a TPB so I can read it all at once ... not that it will keep me from buying the single issues mind you. ;-)

I haven't had much time to drop by and tell you that the book is incredible!

You and Jean make an incredible team, I can't wait until it is collected into an oversized hardcover book.

Keep up the terrific work!

I have been a big fan of your work for a few years now and I was very excited to see your new work on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Picked up issue number 1 yesterday and I have added it to my account at my local comic book shop so I won't miss an issue. I'm really enjoying watching the progression of your work and style. Keep up the great work.
