The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Sketchbook

Hello everyone!!!

I've been MIA but I've been busy as hell.  I'm wrapping up inks on issue 3 of Oz, writing a 2 issue arc of a Marvel book and Casey and I just became parents of a new 11 week old Saint Bernard.  Her name is Emma and she's already better than your dogs...sorry!  haha.

Ok, on to business.  Marvel has been outstanding with their praise and support of our work on Oz and decided to give everyone a preview and behind the scenes look into the process of working on a classic novel such as this by publishing a sketchbook.  How cool is that!?!?  Now, I know they are doing it to promote the book, but I'm telling myself that they're doing because they think I'm the best thing to happen to pens and pencils since the first dip of a feather in ink.  (let me have my moment!)

Check out the info on the sketchbook over at MARVEL

And a little preview of our new baby girl Emma.  I'm sure you'll want to puke soon enough.

She's beautiful Skottie!! Now go read Puppies for Dummies, you'll walk out a dog-whisperer and Emma will love you for it.

Can't wait for the sketch book, at least it will hold me over til Oz is out. Good luck with the pup. The first three months we had ours he ate a pair of socks, rocks, cd (plus the case), thumb tacks and one of his own terds. Yeah our vet thinks we suck.
Good luck, keep up the good work.

Eric says that there will be a Marvelous Land series coming out as well. I think Marvel is really backing you guys with this project!

I just spent five minutes checking to see if this was asked before and can't find it so if it was, whatever.

My question is about Oz, did your basis for the look of the Tin Man draw on Tick Tock from that freaky ass flick Return to Oz from back when? Just wondering, cause they both have bushy metal staches and all.

Enjoy the work. Thanks!

Wow...I've heard your Mom talk about your drawings, and I have to say I'm really impressed. And yes, your puppy is adorable. She might give Chloe a run for her money!

Hey Skottie!
I saw some pics that you draw with blue pencils...do you prefer them instead of mechanical pencil with blue lead?? Aren´t they hard to erase??

Great drawings! i´ve just found your blog and it´s already in my feeds!
